Abstract:
This printing device comprises: a base material feeder that feeds a long base material; a base material transport unit that transports the base material in a transport direction; a storage unit that stores the width of the base material; a meandering correction unit that is provided with a meandering sensor for detecting the meandering of the base material and refers to the output of the meandering sensor and the width of the base material stored in the storage unit to correct the meandering of the base material; an image recording unit that records images on the base material; a first sensor that detects the point where the width of the base material changes upstream of the meandering correction unit in the transport direction; and a control unit. When the first sensor detects the point where the width of the base material changes, the control unit executes meandering correction stop control for stopping the meandering correction of the base material while continuing the transportation of the base material. The control unit executes meandering correction restart control for restarting the meandering correction, after determining that the point where the width of the base material changes has reached a reference position downstream of the meandering correction unit.
