Abstract:
Provided is a printing device that allows a print medium to be cut exactly to a desired size and used. A printing device (1) comprises: a feed tray (21) for accommodating paper (P); a transport roller (60, 62, 64, 66); a printing unit (3) for printing on the paper (P); a cutting unit (10) for cutting the paper (P); a register sensor (120) that detects the front and rear ends of the paper (P); and a control unit. The distance (L) between the register sensor (120) and the cutting unit (10) in the first transport direction (D1) is shorter than the length in the first transport direction (D1) of each paper obtained by bisecting the paper (P). The control unit calculates the length of the paper (P) in the first transport direction (D1) by using the detection results of the front and rear ends of the paper (P) detected by the register sensor (120), sets the cutting position where the paper (P) is bisected, and causes the cutting unit (10) to cut the paper (P) at the set cutting position.
