Abstract:
With regard to a printing inspection device that reads, as a multi-level image, an image that includes a two-dimensional code printed by a general-purpose printer such as an inkjet printer, creates a binary image from the multi-level image by using a prescribed binarization threshold value, and then carries out decoding, the objective of the present invention is to obtain a printing inspection device capable of obtaining an optimal binarization threshold value. Prior to an actual printing inspection a reading test is executed. This reading test is carried out by carrying out a binarization of a multi-level image for one or more inspection samples while using a lightness value for all of the gradations as a threshold value, and obtaining a range (maximum value, minimum value) for a readable lightness value, after which a median value between the minimum value and the maximum value is used as the binarization threshold value for the two-dimensional code image in the actual printing inspection.
