Abstract:
Provided is a printing method in which printing is carried out such that the size of characters gradually increases from the lower end portion to the upper end portion of a surface to be printed. The surface to be printed can be the entire area of each page of a book or an area in which articles of a newspaper separated by subject are printed. On the entire area of each page of a book or the subject article area of a newspaper, the characters at the uppermost end are larger than the characters at the lowermost end by k times in the "size of characters in the longitudinal direction", wherein the value of k is preferably 1.28-1.79. On the entire area of each page of a book or the subject article area of a newspaper, the characters at the uppermost end are larger than the characters at the lowermost end by k' times in the "size of characters in the traversal direction", wherein the traversal direction magnification k' has a value of 0.7-1 times as large as the longitudinal direction magnification k. In addition, on the lowermost end of the entire area of each page of a book or the subject article area of a newspaper, the character size in the traversal direction gradually increases up to f times from the center portion (c) to both right and left end portions (R, R'), wherein the value of f is set to be in the range of 1.0-1.16. Further, the value of f gradually decreases from the lowermost end to the uppermost end such that the character size in the traversal direction at the center portion (c) and both right and left end portions (R, R') can be the same at the uppermost end.
