Abstract:
Provided is a molding method for a cylindrical printing plate molded with high precision and used for printing metal, particularly aluminum or aluminum alloy, cans. The molding method for a printing plate 1 that is mounted on the circumference of a cylindrical plate cylinder 2 is provided with: a notching step for forming a positioning notch 14 in a rectangular elastic material sheet, on one surface of which a resin layer that will serve as a plate section 12 is formed; a cylindrical material-molding step for rolling the elastic material sheet in which the positioning notch 14 has been formed, overlapping the two edges 111, 112 of the elastic material sheet and bonding same to form a cylinder; and a plate section-engraving step for engraving a printing pattern on said plate section 12 of the cylindrically molded elastic material sheet.
