Abstract:
Provided is a highly reliable battery that does not malfunction when undergoing a vibration or an impact. This prismatic secondary battery 100 has a flat-shaped wound group 3 comprising a positive pole electrode 34 and a negative pole electrode 32 that are wound via separators 33, 35 therebetween, a battery can 1 housing the wound group 3, a battery lid 6 sealing the battery can 1, and, provided on the battery lid 6, a positive electrode collector plate 44 and a negative electrode collector plate 24. Then, the wound group 3 is supported by the battery lid 6 by having, on an extremity surface on one side of the winding axis direction, a plurality of positive electrode collector tabs 34c and a plurality of negative electrode collector tabs 32c disposed separately in a pre-set pair of opposing corner regions A1, A3 to be joined respectively to the positive electrode collector plate 44 and the negative electrode collector plate 24.
