Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and an apparatus comprising at least one camera module, at least one microphone, a communication module, a memory and a processor operatively connected to the at least one camera module, the at least one microphone, the communication module, or the memory, wherein the processor is configured to: detect whether a user boards a vehicle on the basis that the vehicle is detected through the communication module; determine the presence/absence of passengers in the vehicle on the basis of at least one from among an external electronic device retrieved through the communication module, sound collected from the at least one microphone, and an image obtained from the at least one camera module; identify information about relationship with the passengers; analyze the properties of audio requested to be output; and control audio output through the vehicle on the basis of the relationship information and the audio properties. Various embodiments are possible.
