Abstract:
Provided are a probe composition for identifying or assisting the identification of mammalian species, and a kit thereof. The probe composition is a nucleotide probe represented by SEQ ID NO:1 to SEQ ID NO:3590 in a sequence listing. The probe is used to capture a COI gene of a target species, a library is created on the basis thereof, and a DNA sequence of the COI gene is obtained by means of a high-throughput detection method based on next-generation sequencing. While the advantages of flexibility, convenience and rapid results of first-generation sequencing are preserved, the problem of tedious batch sample operation of first-generation sequencing is solved, and the risk that the COI gene sequence cannot be accurately obtained due to instability of part of results in first-generation sequencing is avoided. The probe can be developed into a mammalian COI gene capture kit, which can realize rapid and batch identification of mammalian species.
