Abstract:
A process of producing, with a high yield, aliphatic acids by reacting aliphatic acids or aliphatic ketons with liquid nitrogen dioxide N2O4 in a liquid-liquid phase through a continuous or batch system and subjecting the results to acidification. No catalyst is required to be used in the reaction.
