Abstract:
A process for the catalytic cracking of waste plastics which attains excellent cracking efficiency and enables low -temperature cracking of difficult-to-crack linear-molecule polyethylene with little cracking residue and which can be simply conducted by conducting both catalytic cracking of waste plastics and dechlorination thereof in one reactor simultaneously and realizes a high energy efficiency of 50% or above in terms of net yield of oil. The process comprises throwing waste plastics as the raw material into a reactor which contains a granular or powdery FCC catalyst heated to 350 to 500°C and cracking and gasifying the waste plastics in contact with the FCC catalyst.
