Abstract:
A process and an apparatus are provided by which a curved reinforcing-fiber strip base constituted of reinforcing fiber strands laid throughout the whole base can be easily obtained without fail.
The process and apparatus for producing a reinforcing-fiber strip base having a circular-arc part are characterized by: bringing one side of a strip-shaped, unidirectionally arranged reinforcing-fiber base comprising reinforcing fiber strands arranged parallel in one direction, into contact with a flexible member; deforming at least some of the flexible member into a circular-arc shape in a direction extending along the plane where the member is in contact with the unidirectionally arranged reinforcing-fiber base and thereby deforming the unidirectionally arranged reinforcing-fiber base, which is in contact therewith, into a circular-arc shape; and thereafter separating the flexible member from the unidirectionally arranged reinforcing-fiber base that has been deformed. A multilayer structure, a perform, and a fiber-reinforced resin composite material are provided which each comprises or has been produced using the base.
