Title:
PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT FOR DEMINERALIZING CONDENSATE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/040266
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention provides a multiple-bed process and equipment for demineralizing condensate
which make it possible to reduce remarkably the reverse regeneration rate in
regenerating resins and improve the quality of treated water in ammonia employment.
The invention relates to a multiple-bed process for demineralizing condensate
with ion-exchange resins by passing condensate through a multiple-bed resin
layer made by combining alternately anion resin layers and strongly acidic gel-type
cation resin layers of uniform particle size having degrees of crosslinking of
10 to 16% in such a state divided by separation walls as to inhibit the mixing of
the resins with each other, wherein the strongly acidic gel-type cation resin has
a mean particle diameter of 500 to 800μm, a content of resin particles whose
diameters falls within the range of the mean particle diameter ± 100μm of
95% or above, and a uniformity coefficient of 1.2 or below. When the ion exchange resins
require regeneration by passing a chemical, the resins can be each separately drawn,
regenerated by passing a chemical, and then returned to their respective spaces
surrounded by separation walls.
