Abstract:
A process for the heat treatment of a Grade R6 mooring chain, comprising the following steps: A) bringing a mooring chain into a quenching furnace barrel followed by preheating; B) bringing the mooring chain into a rapid heating region; C) controlling the temperature of the mooring chain in a quenching temperature heating region at 1045ºC, controlling the temperature at 1015 ºC after bringing the mooring chain into a temperature maintaining region, maintaining the temperature for 190 minutes, followed by water cooling, the running speed of the chain during quenching being 0.19 m/minute; D) bringing the mooring chain into a tempering furnace barrel followed by preheating; E) bringing the mooring chain into a heating region; and F) controlling the temperature of the mooring chain in a tempering temperature heating region at 690ºC, controlling the temperature at 640ºC after bringing the mooring chain into a temperature maintaining region, maintaining the temperature for 190 minutes, followed by water cooling again.
