Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a superconductive cable wherein a cable core having a
superconductive conductor layer and, disposed on the outer circumference thereof,
an electrical insulating layer is housed in a heat insulating pipe having an inner
pipe and an outer pipe and, interposed therebetween, a heat insulating material
layer, which process comprises placing the core in a drying vessel, followed
by heating and vacuuming to thereby reduce the water content of the electrical insulating
layer and forming the inner pipe by means of an extruder maintaining the same state
of vacuum as that of the drying vessel to thereby obtain a superconductive cable
wherein the water content of the electrical insulating layer is low.
