Abstract:
The present invention provides: a process for manufacturing a toner for developing an electrostatic image, said process being capable of forming a durable toner which can minimize the detachment and exposure of a release agent and exhibits excellent fixability and which causes little scattering; a process for preparing a dispersion; and a kit for preparing the same. A process for manufacturing a toner for developing an electrostatic image which comprises a step (1) for mixing together a release agent and a dispersion of resin particles (A) such that a polyester accounts for at least 90mass% of the resin, and emulsifying the obtained mixture to prepare a dispersion of release agent particles, a step (2) for mixing the dispersion of release agent particles obtained in the step (1) with a dispersion of resin particles (B) such that a polyester accounts for at least 90mass% of the resin, and subjecting the obtained mixture to aggregation to form aggregated particles, and a step (3) for fusion-bonding the aggregated particles obtained in the step (2) to form fusion-bonded particles, wherein: the acid component of the polyester constituting the resin particles (A) contains an aliphatic carboxylic acid; the volume median diameter of the resin particles (A) is 0.02 to 0.50μm; and the content of a surfactant in the dispersion of release agent particles is 0.5 part by mass or less relative to 100 parts by mass of the release agent. A process for preparing a dispersion of release agent particles, including the step (1); and a kit for preparing a dispersion of release agent particles.
