Abstract:
In the process according to the invention for obtaining metals and compounds and alloys thereof from ore, the charge is prepared by mixing the crushed ore with additives comprising chemical elements found in the ore compounds; oxidized through roasting, the gaseous oxides produced being removed and used; and reduced, the metals and their compounds being subsequently separated out. During preparation of the charge, oxygen-containing compounds of the above-mentioned chemical elements are added to the mixture, the ratio of oxygen to the other elements being between 1:1 and 1:100, the total quantity of additives in the charge being at least 5 per cent. The oxidization is carried out in an oxygen-containing environment at a temperature of 1400-1600 �C, the solid oxides thus obtained then being cooled, crushed and subsequently mixed before undergoing thermal reduction with an appropriate reducing metal, the ratio of metal oxides/alloys to reducing agent being between 1:0.3 and 1:0.7. The reduction is carried out at a temperature of 2000-2300 �C.
