A process for preparing allyl esters, which comprises reacting a mixture composed mainly of allyl chloride and chloropropenes, fromed by the decomposition of 1,2-dichloropropane, with an alkali metal carbonate or with a combination of a carboxylic acid and/or its anhydride and an alkali metal carbonate.
