Abstract:
A process for the preparation of fatty acid esters of isethionic acid or salts thereof by reacting a fatty acid and/or a fatty acid alkyl ester with isethionic acid at a temperature of 130 �C or below, which can give the objective esters improved in hue and odor with a reduction in the amount of by-products.
