Abstract:

A novel industrial process for preparing 7-[2-(2- amino- thiazol-4-yl)-2-lower-alkoxycarbonylmethoxyiminoacetamido] 3-cephem compounds of the general formula (I) or salts thereof (wherein R?1¿ is an organic group; R?2¿ is carboxyl or protected carboxyl; and R?3¿ is lower alkyl), characterized by reacting a 7-amino-3-cephem compound of the general formula (II), a reactive derivative thereof obtained by modifying the amino group, or a salt thereof with a compound of the general formula (III) or a salt thereof (wherein X is halogeno).
