A process for preparing 2,3-di-non-straight-alkyl-2-cyano succinic acid diesters, especially 2,3-diisopropyl-2-cyano succinic acid diesters. A process for preparing 2,3-di-non-straight-alkyl succinic acids and esters thereof in which the said 2,3-di-non-straight-alkyl-2-cyano succinic acid diesters are intermediates.
