Abstract:
A process for preparing butyl rubber involves that the mixture of iso-monoolefin, conjugated
diene and diluent together with the mixture of initiator and diluent is fed into
the hypergravity reactor in a specific proportion to carry out the cationic polymerization
in the hypergravity field. After the reaction is completed,the product is seperated
from the monmer and the diluent. The resulting butyl rubber has a number average
molecular weight between 80000 and 300000. The polydispersity (Mw/Mn) of the
butyl rubber is in the range of from 1.9 to 3.6.
