Abstract:
A process for preparing cephalosporin compounds represented by the following general formula (III): (FORMULA) (wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which comprises reacting 7-amino-3-(benzimidazol-2-yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid represented by the following formula (I): (FORMULA) or the salt thereof with a compound represented by the following general formula (II): (FORMULA) (wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group).
