Abstract:
A novel process for synthesizing a ß-aminoketone which comprises reacting an &agr ,ß-unsaturated ketone compound with a carbamate compound through conjugate addition, in which a salt or hydrated salt of a transition metal belonging to Groups 7 to 11 of the Periodic Table is caused to be present as a catalyst in the reaction system. Thus, a ß-aminoketone can be highly efficiently synthesized through the Aza-Michael reaction in a high yield.
