Abstract:
A process for producing a bisindenylalkane compound represented by the formula (3): (3) (wherein R1 to R4 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, or aryl; and R5 represents methylene or C2-4 alkylene), which comprises reacting an indene compound which has undergone lithiation (hereinafter, referred to as lithioindene compound) represented by the formula (1): (1) (wherein R1 to R4 are the same as defined above) with a disubstituted alkane represented by the formula (2): X1-R5-X2 (2) (wherein R5 is the same as defined above; and X1 and X2 may be the same or different and each represents a leaving group), characterized in that the reaction is conducted while feeding at least the lithioindene compound to the reaction system.
