Abstract:
A process for producing crystals of a solid adduct of bisphenol A with phenol and/or substantially pure crystals of bisphenol A. The process is characterized in that phenol is reacted with acetone in the presence of a catalyst and two or more solvents are caused to be present in the resultant reaction mixture in a regulated proportion to selectively crystallize a bisphenol A/phenol adduct and/or bisphenol A.
