Abstract:

A process for producing a compound represented by the following formula (XI) [wherein R² represents an in vivo degradable, easily removable group and R⁴ represents 1-(1,3-thiazolin-2-yl)azetidin-3-yl or pyrrolidin-2-on-4-yl], which is useful as a prodrug-type carbapenem preparation for oral administration. By the process, the compound can be produced at a lower cost and can be advantageously produced industrially. (XI)
