Abstract:
A process for producing carboxylic acid esters by reacting an aldehyde with an alcohol in a liquid phase in the presence of molecular oxygen and a catalyst composed of at least palladium and X (which is bismuth and/or lead) supported by a carrier and having an acid strength of pKa$m(g)4.8 and an ammonia chemisorption amount of 0 to 150$g(m)mol/g-catalyst at 0 �C.
