Abstract:
A process for effectively utilizing a catalyst which has been used for a reaction and comprises at least molybdenum, an element A (A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of phosphorus and arsenic), and an element X (X is at least one element selected from the group consisting of potassium, rubidium, and cesium). The process comprises dispersing the catalyst into water, adding an alkali metal compound and/or ammonia water thereto, adjusting the pH of the resultant mixture to 6.5 or lower to form a sediment containing at least molybdenum and the element A, and using the sediment as a feed material for catalyst-constituting elements to produce a catalyst.
