Abstract:
A process comprising a step in which a monohalobenzaldehyde (any of the ortho isomer, meta isomer, and para isomer) is reacted with itself to produce any of 2,2'-diformylbiphenyl, 3,3'-diformylbiphenyl, and 4,4'-diformylbiphenyl and a step in which the diformylbiphenyl is vinylated to produce any of 2,2'-divinylbiphenyl, 3,3'-divinylbiphenyl, and 4,4'-divinylbiphenyl.
