Abstract:
A process is provided by which it is possible to produce a highly reliable electronic component having satisfactory characteristics by inhibiting or preventing the Cu constituting an inner conductor part from being oxidized in a firing step and by oxidizing a magnetic-body part comprising NiO, ZnO, Fe2O3, etc., even when the magnetic-body part has suffered reduction (e.g., reduction of Fe2O3 to Fe3O4) in the firing step, and ensuring the inherent characteristics.
The process is for producing an electronic component comprising a magnetic-body part comprising NiO, ZnO, and Fe2O3 and an inner conductor part which comprises Cu as the main component and has been disposed within the magnetic-body part so that some of the inner conductor part has been withdrawn to surfaces of the magnetic-body part. In the process, an unfired stack which includes parts that, through firing, become the magnetic-body part and the inner conductor part is fired in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration not higher than the partial oxygen pressure corresponding to Cu-Cu2O equilibrium, and thereafter the temperature is caused to fall. In this cooling step, the fired stack is subjected to heat treatment in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 0.01% or higher (oxygenic-atmosphere heat treatment).
