Abstract:
A process for producing an entangled object for artificial leathers which includes a step in which a woven or knit fabric and an entangled nonwoven fabric are united with each other by entangling. The production process comprises: (1) a step in which a woven or knit fabric is superposed on one side of an entangled nonwoven fabric; (2) a step in which needle punching is conducted from the entangled nonwoven fabric side to cause fibers constituting the entangled nonwoven fabric to penetrate into and through the woven or knit fabric and thereby form, on the outer surface of the woven or knit fabric, a nonwoven fabric layer consisting of the fibers which have penetrated therethrough; and (3) a step in which needle punching is conducted from the nonwoven fabric layer side to fold at least part of the fibers which have penetrated through the woven or knit fabric and constitute the nonwoven fabric layer and to cause these fibers to come again into the woven or knit fabric and thereby unite the woven or knit fabric with the entangled nonwoven fabric by entangling. This production process less causes rumples, etc., and the web has the excellent property of running through the steps. An artificial leather obtained from the entangled object for artificial leathers has excellent shape stability, a highly elegant appearance, and a soft texture giving a highly fashionable feeling.
