Abstract:
A process for producing a fluoropolymer which comprises polymerizing one or more radical-polymerizable monomers comprising at least one fluoroolefin monomer in the presence of a free-radical polymerization initiator and optionally of an inactive fluorocarbon and a chain transfer agent in a polymerization system where at least one of the components thereof is in a supercritical state. By the process, the polymer is prevented from undergoing generation of unstable terminal groups or a decrease in purity, and a complicated post-treatment, etc. are eliminated.
