Abstract:
A process for producing a foamed polyolefin resin sheet is provided in order to improve the dimensional stability of the sheet. The process for producing a foamed polyolefin resin sheet comprises: a kneading step in which a polyolefin resin composition containing a polyolefin resin as a base resin is heated in an extruder to a temperature not lower than the melting point of the polyolefin resin and is melt-kneaded; an extrusion step in which the melt-kneaded polyolefin resin composition is extruded through an annular die attached to the extruder and is foamed to form cylindrical foam; an incision step in which the cylindrical foam is incised along the extrusion direction; and a development step in which the incised cylindrical foam is developed into a flat sheet form. The process is characterized by implementing the development step while keeping the incised cylindrical foam being cooled at a temperature lower by at least 50ºC than the crystallization temperature of the polyolefin resin.
