Abstract:
A process for producing a functional membrane, in which there are ensured easier
escape of air from pores than in the prior art and high productivity. In the production
of a functional membrane having a porous base material whose pores are filled
with a functional polymer, the production is carried out through at least the
first step of superimposing a layer of functional polymer precursor or liquid
thereof on one major surface of porous base material so that the pores of the porous
base material are impregnated with the functional polymer precursor or liquid
thereof and the second step of carrying out chemical reaction of the functional
polymer precursor or liquid thereof to thereby fix the functional polymer in
the pores of the porous base material.
