Abstract:

A novel process for efficiently producing a mixture of chain and cyclic lactic acid oligomers respectively represented by the following general formulae (1) and (2): (1) (2) wherein m is an integer of 1 to 30 and n is an integer of 1 to 30. The process is characterized by polymerizing a lactide in the presence of a compound represented by the following general formula (3): Me-N(R?1¿)(R?2¿) (3) wherein Me represents an alkali metal and R?1¿ and R?2¿ each independently represents an aliphatic or aromatic group.
