Abstract:
An olefin-containing gas comprising propylene and/or butene as a major ingredient and containing ethylene and pentene is produced from at least one of methanol and dimethyl ether. The olefin-containing gas obtained and the gas obtained in the subsequent step of olefin conversion reaction are separated into a propylene/butene-containing fraction, an ethylene-containing fraction, and a pentene-containing fraction. The ethylene-containing fraction and pentene-containing fraction obtained are subjected to an olefin conversion reaction to yield a gas comprising propylene and/or butene as a major ingredient, and this gas is fed to a separation step. On the other hand, a liquefied petroleum gas is produced from the propylene/butene-containing fraction and hydrogen.
