Abstract:
A long obliquely drawn film having an axis of orientation in the direction of 10° to
85° angle (θs) from the width direction is obtained by gripping width-direction
two ends of longitudinally drawn film of average retardation (Re1)
by grip means; passing the film through a preheating zone, a drawing zone and a
fixing zone to thereby attain drawing under such conditions that a test piece
of long obliquely drawn film of average retardation (Re2) (Re2 is
smaller than Re1) is obtained; releasing the two ends of the film from
the grip means; and taking up the film around a winding core.
