Abstract:
A process for producing a metal coating material through coating of a surface of
base material with a metal, in which during production there is no danger of metal
powder scattering or ignition, and in which any cumbersome operation, such as
firing at high temperature, is not required to thereby ensure high productivity, and
in which a coating material excelling in functions, such as ornamental effect and
catalytic action, can be obtained. There is provided a process for producing a
metal coating material, comprising carrying out mechanical alloying of a metal powder
and a base material of any of ceramic, mineral, metal, synthetic resin and mixture
thereof to thereby cause the metal powder to form a metal layer covering the surface
of the base material.
