Abstract:
A process for producing (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid, in which the operation can be continued without any decomposition reaction of acrolein, etc. There is provided a process for producing (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid, comprising carrying out a contact vapor-phase oxidation of propylene, propane or isobutylene by oxygen by means of a heat exchange type multitubular reactor including a tube bundle section consisting of a multiplicity of parallel arranged reaction tubes packed with a catalyst and a tube sheet disposed adjacent to understream of the reaction tube bundle section and providing a lead-out part for reaction gas, the reaction tube bundle section as a whole having a hollow cylindrical structure, characterized in that the tube sheet is fitted with a flow straightener.
