Abstract:
A process for producing microspheres that are liquid microparticles or solid microparticles for use as, for example, an emulsion employed in the food industry, production of medicine and cosmetic, etc. or an emulsion for DDS (drug delivery system). There is provided a process for producing microspheres, including separating a dispersed phase from a continuous phase by means of substrate (1) furnished with through-holes (7) and extruding the dispersed phase through the through-holes (7) into the continuous phase in the form of microspheres, characterized in that the through-holes (7) have a width of 0.5 to 500 μm and a depth of 10 to 6000 μm and have a ratio of width to depth of 1 to 1/30, and that the substrate furnished with through-holes (7) is made of a metal.
