Abstract:
A process for producing an optical film, in which even upon an increase of filtration
pressure, the mixing of foreign matter into the film can be satisfactorily prevented,
thereby attaining effective prolongation of an exchange cycle of filer paper;
an optical film produced by the process; a polarizing plate making use of the optical
film; and a liquid crystal display apparatus making use of the polarizing plate.
There is provided a process for producing an optical film through filtering of
a dope having a cellulose ester dissolved therein and forming of the dope into
an optical film according to a solution flow casting technique, characterized
in that the filtration is carried out with the use of a filter paper of 10 to 15 sec/300
ml air permeability.
