Abstract:
A process for producing a polarizing lens which comprises: polishing, in a certain direction, one surface of a first mold for forming one surface of a lens; disposing the first mold and a second mold, which is for forming the other surface of the lens, so that the two molds face each other while leaving a given space therebetween, and sealing the space to thereby form a cavity, the two molds being disposed so that the polished surface faces the cavity; injecting a liquid raw lens material containing a curing ingredient into the cavity and conducting the curing reaction of the curing ingredient within the cavity to obtain a lens base having a surface to which the surface shape of the polished surface has been transferred; and applying a coating fluid containing a dichroic dye to that surface of the lens base to thereby form a polarizing film.
