The purpose of the present invention is to provide a process for producing a water-absorbing resin which exhibits more excellent physical properties, particularly excellent saline flow conductivity (SFC), and which suffers from little dust generation. The present invention provides a process for producing a polyacrylic acid (salt) based water-absorbing resin, said process being characterized by: using a polymerizer having a feed line for feeding an aqueous solution, a feed opening for feeding a gas from the outside, and a gas-discharging opening, and further having such a structure that both a liquid-contact part, which is to come into contact with the aqueous solution, and a gas fed from the outside of the polymerizer come into contact with the aqueous solution during the polymerization reaction; and conducting the polymerization reaction under temperature conditions satisfying the requirements (1) to (3): (1) 35°C ≤ TS ≤ 85°C, (2) 40°C ≤ TG ≤ 90°C and (3) 47°C ≤ TT ≤ 73°C wherein TS is the controlled temperature of the liquid-contact part, TG is the temperature of the gas, and TT = (TS+TG)/2.
