Abstract:
A process for producing a polymer which comprises: a step in which a norbornene type monomer and maleic anhydride are polymerized to obtain a copolymer; and a step in which the copolymer to which a compound represented by the following formula (1) has been added is subjected to a first heat treatment without adding an acidic catalyst or a basic catalyst, thereby opening the maleic-anhydride-derived anhydride rings present in the copolymer.
