Abstract:
A process for polymer powder production by which particles not suffering blocking in later steps including dehydration, drying, and additive mixing and suitable for use as a molding material can be obtained in a simple manner. A slurry comprising polymer particles, water, and a dispersant is mixed with a polymer latex produced by emulsion polymerization and with an aqueous electrolyte solution. The resultant solution is heated to adhere emulsified polymer particles contained in the polymer latex to the surface of those polymer particles. Thus, a polymer powder is produced.
