Abstract:
A process for producing 4-quinolone derivatives, characterized by reacting an o-aminoacetophenone derivative with a formic ester in the presence of a suitable base in an aprotic solvent and then adding a protonic solvent to the reaction mixture. An industrial mass production of 4-quinolone derivatives can be facilitated by this process.
