Abstract:
A process for producing a high-quality raw material for optical disks from a waste optical disk which is a spent optical disk and/or a rejected product in production steps. The waste optical disk is subjected to the separation method and chemical treatment according to the invention to obtain bisphenol A, which is subjected to interfacial polymerization to produce a PC resin. Thus, the waste optical disk is regenerated to produce again a resin which is utilizable as a optical-disk substrate. Also provided are: a raw material for optical disks which is produced by the process; and an optical disk.
