Abstract:
A process for producing release paper, which comprises extruding onto a base material such as paper a mixture of a polyolefin resin and a silicone releasing agent compatible with said resin and comprising a reaction product among polymethylhydrogensiloxane, vinyl group-containing polydimethylsiloxane and at least one member selected from among olefins and polyolefins having one or more double bonds, subjecting the resulting laminate to a heat treatment to thereby cause the releasing agent to bleed out and localize on the surface of the mixture layer of the laminate, and hardening and fixing the localized releasing agent there. This process remarkably improves compatibility of the releasing agent with the polyolefin resin, film forming properties, and extensibility. Since the releasing agent is localized and fixed in a high concentration on the surface of the releasing layer as the result of the heat treatment and curing, a remarkable releasing effect can be obtained with only a small amount of the releasing agent.
