Abstract:
The following is provided as an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer containing a relatively low amount of ethylene structural units that can reduce the coloring of a melt-molded product. The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer contains 1–16.5 mol% of ethylene structural units and has a yellowness in a yellowness test outlined below of no more than 80. Yellowness test: Yellowness is found by using a reflection method, in accordance with JIS K7373, after heating ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer particles in air at a temperature of 170°C for five hours.
