Abstract:
A process for producing a honeycomb structure, which comprises the steps of: supplying a slurry-like sealing material (304) to the inside of a frame (302) which has been placed on the surface of a base (300); placing a mask (200a) which comprises a mask part (270b) and multiple openings (270a) on an edge surface of a cylindrical body (70) which has multiple through-holes (70a) formed therein so that some of the through-holes (70a) can be covered with the mask part (270b), wherein the edge surface has the through-holes formed therein; pressing the edge surface of the cylindrical body (70) which has the mask (200a) placed thereon against the sealing material (304) in the frame (302); and moving the cylindrical body (70) that has been pressed against the sealing material (304) together with the frame (302) in a direction that is almost parallel with the surface of the base (300).
